Due to our local race track not announcing a race schedule with proper time given to competitors to prepare thier cars it is unfortunate that Cooter Smith Motorsports will have to suspend its racing operations for 2008 , and if the track does not offer a weekly racing program for 2009 then we might have to look at suspend operations indefinately. For 2008 we would have had to rely on sponsorship dollars to get to the track and we had enough lined up to race a full season but due to the track not answering telephone calls and rumours rampant about a short season and no points , etc, we had some sponsors pull out because it would not be worth their while to advertise on a car that would only be at the track a few times the year. While we did have some sponsorship left , we decided to pull the plug as we would not have had the money left to run as competitively as we are capable of. While this is unfortunate we apologize to any fans who were looking forward to us being at the track.
Oldsmobile street stock
350 (stock bore), 2 bolt main, Isky 4-7 swap cam with stock lift and stock duration (custom grind) , 5 races on engine, heads removed for winter inspection. Have powerglide transmission to go with car , but may not be legal at your track, 7.5 10 bolt chev rear end with 5 races on bearings and seals, 3.42 gears. Racing 15 gallon fuel cell. Car runs 180-190 degrees on a 25 degree celsius day. I have 8x 8 inch wide wheels to go with car. 4 are 2 inch offsets, 4 are 3 inch offset. Butlerbuilt seat with RJS belts, Leaf window net. Speedway motors quick disconnect and steering wheel. The front end has GM replacement upper control arms not junkyard pieces as well as new tie rod ends , ball joints, calipers, rotors, everything only 5 races old. 5/8 wheel studs with coarse thread and double taper lug nuts. Speedway motors hidden spring adjusters for front springs. Now for the bad, cra need a drivers compartment floor, and possilbly a new body. There are no racing springs to go with car , nor shocks. I do have a few shocks to go with it. Also it will need a new transmission cooler, gauges, and a carb. The carb, springs and shocks, were all sponsored to me and the deal was when I got rid of the car they would go back. Now for spare parts, 2 GM upper control arms, 4 lower A arms, spare rear housing, Different size sway bars, manifolds, everything I have for a metric car, goes with it. I do not want to part it out.
